Omg~~!!! I love my dad sooo sooo much~~~ Yesterday he was feeling generous and it was probably my happiest day ever (and probably also the day my dad spent so much money on me)

Dad took us over to Penang island and we went to INTI college to take a look. Not really sure what course I'll be studying but I'm sure I'll be studying in INTI. So anyone going there can let me know. RM100 for the registration fee. Then we went to look at the hostel which was only walking distance away. The hostel is not bad, quiet and serene. Trees everywhere and you can't see any cars anywhere. I think it'll be a good place for studying. RM400 for reservations there. Luckily the money is refundable when I don't want to stay there anymore.

Later we went to Gurney. The main purpose was to take a look at the iPod but we couldn't find the apple shop anywhere. Most probably it shifted to the new wing and is still under constructions. Walked around a bit and saw a RM169 Guess handbag with 40% discount which I liked as soon as I set eyes on it. But mum said "It doesn't suit you lah..", "You will use it wan meh.." then just walked away. Fine!! I'll buy it myself when I have the money~~

The best thing that happened... we went to Popular and saw they were having a 25% discount on Twilight and New Moon. Asked dad to buy it for me and he said okay. Ask him to buy the other two he said "No discount lih.. wait till got discount first la..." Then the salesman said got 15% discount for members. And dad said "Okay lah, buy for you la.." after I begged him. So one shot buy all 4 Twilight books RM134 (after the discounts) Yipeeeeeee~~~~~~ Love you so much~~!!

After a cheap dinner (spent too much money) we went back. Then mum suddenly said "Let's go Sunway" and my sis and I were like "OK! OK! Go and see iPod!!!" And so we headed to Sunway around 9 something, when shops will start to close real soon. Parked the car and headed straight to see the long-awaited iPod. After looking for awhile dad went "Ok lah. Go call mummy here." (Mum wandered off on her own. She's not really interested in technology stuff like this.) Dad wanted to buy it then, right on the spot!! RM599 for 8 gig iPod nano. Took me some time to choose the perfect color. When I finally chosen blue colour, the salesgirl said "Sorry. Blue is out of stock right now. You'll have to wait. Please come back later." Fine!! So now I still haven't got my iPod yet but she said the stock will come on Monday. So.. going back there on Monday to get my iPod!!! Yeah~~~~~~

Today planned to go Gurney (again!) to watch Twilight. Even made online reservations. Dad had a wedding dinner to attend there that's why he is willing to take us there again. Went to the jetty and there was a long long queue so turned around to use the bridge but the bridge was clogged up like hell. Jammed all the way to Seberang Jaya there!!! Dad got fed up and turned back home. In the end, sis and I went to watch Twilight at Sunway (yeah.. again). The movie was not bad, but I like the book more. The scenes were different and they cut a lot of things. But I guess that's what always happens. The worst is they cut off the kissing scene!!!!! How can they do this?!?!?!?!!

Currently reading New Moon. How can Edward leave Bella like this?!?! It breaks my heart. Starting to like Jacob now. Gosh.. I really change my mind easily. Hehe.. sorry Edward~ Now that I think about it, Harry Potter suddenly seems childish and exaggerating. How can a 17-year-old accomplish so many things that even some adults can't?! Felt bored by it till I didn't really finish the last book. Feel guilty now that I've collected the whole set of 7 books (which probably cost more than the Twilight set) and now saying bored of it. But maybe I'll read it again in another 10 years time, when I've forgotten all about it. Anyway, found some Twilight pics on a fanclub in crunchyroll. I don't take any credits for these cute pics & illustrations.

the Cullens

I want one too~ both of it~~

Beauty and the Beast

lion and the lamb

they look so much better here~Edward kinda looks like Kira from Death Note..

lolxx.. XD

Quote of the day : "Oh, a sadistic vampire, intent on torturing her to death, sure, no problem, she runs off to meet him. An IV, on the other hand..." - Edward [Twilight]

Finally exams are half over. Today is the 5th day of exams and there are 4 more days left next week. 7 down 4 more subjects to go. After Biology and Physics are over then I can at least relax a bit. Suddenly don't feel like taking EST now, if not I get a day off earlier. *Sigh* But maybe I could get an extra A there. XD

Today chemistry was like hell. Damn paper 3.. don't even know what questions they're asking. But luckily we got some last minute tips and it was really last minute, the teacher was already giving out the test papers inside the classroom and we were they standing outside the corridor discussing it. Because of the tips I wasn't really surprise to see the questions yet I still can't answer it. Haizzz..

Anyway, people are already discussing where to go and celebrate the end of SPM after BC, which is the last paper and ends on Wednesday at 12.45pm. But unfortunately for me I still have to sit for the EST paper on the next day which starts at 11.40am and ends at 3.15pm. Why can't they make it start at 8.00am??!! Then we'll be done at around noon and then we could still go out and play. The people who arranged this time table have no time management at all. Arrghh... wasting my precious time.

Btw, Edward and Bella's love story officially hits the big screen tomorrow. Feel like running off to the nearest theater and watching it first before continuing with my exam. No way mum is gonna let me do something like that and even if I just suggest it she'll start nagging my head off. Better keep my mouth shut until exam is over. Leonie and Junn~ Let's go watch it after the EST paper then. ^^

And then there's the Twilight soundtrack. Haven't heard the songs yet but according to Yahoo! Music, the soundtrack hit the number 1 spot even before the movie was released. Wow~ Anyway this is 1 of the song in the soundtrack. Decode by Paramore (with clips of Twilight)

Current thought : TWILIGHT~~ EDWARD~~ BELLA~~ JACOB~~ SPM

Ya, I know it's a little late (many had blogged about it already) but

Yes!!! Cheers to Obama for being the first African-American president and making a new page in the American history. Change has finally come to America, and hopefully the world too. Aaand.... Obama's brother-in-law is a Malaysian. He is Obama's half-sister's husband and a lecturer in the University of Hawaii whose family is originally from Sabah. The sad thing is that Obama's grandmother died on Monday, 3rd Nov, a day before the elections. Because of his skin colour, he is more likely to be a target than his predecessors. Police had already arrested two white supremacists for plotting to kill Obama. Why are you guys so damn racists??!! Does his skin colour really matter that much?!

Anyway... there's only about THREE days left till SPM and I don't seem to be in 'exam mode' yet. Struggling to read the history of Malaysia and also Islam but somehow I just can't seem to concentrate. Can I burn the book, mix its ashes with a cup of water and drink it? Then maybe I can remember the things inside the book... So many words, so little time~~~

Was flipping through the newspapers yesterday when I came across a book review. It was about a book named "A Lifetime of Secrets" by Frank Warren. Seems interesting but.. nah, I still prefer Twilight. =P

'Secrets in the post' by Fong Leong Ming

We all have secrets. Some scar us for life but we still obstinately keep them locked up in the deep recesses of our subconscious nonetheless. I'm sure there's a Freudian(?) explanation somewhere. We hurt deep inside and however much we may deny it, they indirectly shape us and our responses to the world.

It could also be just a longing, a wish, an unrequited love. It could be anger, whittled down to resentment through the years, but festering all the same. Mostly, they are insecurities, the part of us that yearn to be noticed, appreciated and, of course, loved.

A Lifetime of Secrets lays bare a lot of these hidden fears, hopes, regrets and desires. It is a collection of postcards from a project called PostSecrets, initiated by Frank Warren, a small business owner, in the last four years as a community art project.

Perhaps it's a ready outlet for pent-up frustrations. Perhaps it's the anonymity of it all. Perhaps it's a desire to reach out to another person, a hope that the latter will stumble onto this deep, dark secret, realise who the sender is and make things right.

Frankly, I don't know how to respond to his presenting, yet again(this is already the 4th book in the series), everyone's insecurities and darkest secrets in another huge volume. Admittedly it does make good reading but why is there this huge uncomfortable guilt hanging over me each time I peer into other people's souls and see one dark secret after another?

Is it because I see in myself the same insecurities? Is it because in some perverse way we rejoice because we think we are made of sterner stuff? Or is it because we automatically recoil in the face of such human weakness? Is it also because we are brought up to expect joy and happiness in this life? How then are we to deal with all the disappointments and tragedy within these pages?

Be forewarned: this book will make you an emotional wreck if you are not careful. It will make you cry, it will make you laugh. It will make you angry and it will make you sad. It will inspire and it will deflate. You see the futility in words but you are also glad that not all is pessimistic. Hope flickers but mostly, there's just betrayal, lost friendships and broken marriages.

In short, you'll see Man at his most vulnerable.

That you'll experience more sadness than happiness in the postcards featured is not unexpected: secrets have often always to do with unfulfilled longings, tragedy, acts of violence and unbridled desires.

Call it a catharsis([outlet to emotion afforded by drama etc] took the effort to look up the dictionary) of sorts but A Lifetime of Secrets is truly just that, an emotional release for the tormented soul.

From people as young as eight to as old as 80, there are confessions, painful admissions of infidelity and endearing sentiments.

Each postcard represents a physical sending away, a discarding if you like, the years of emotional baggage. It's therapeutic, a cry for help and the culmination of much emotional struggle.

The journey we all take through childhood, adolescence, adulthood and maturity traverses diverse routes, each pothole resulting in varying degrees of emotional injury and every rainbow leaving behind unmatched memories and happiness.

Some people change over time, with events building character; yet others are crushed by circumstances and tragedy. Ultimately, this book is a record of Man's strength inasmuch as it is an admission of our weaknesses.

Don't have much to say, the review very much said my thoughts out. Everyone has their own dark secrets which they keep to only themselves, including me (who doesn't have dark secrets.. duh). Somehow, I take comfort in knowing that people out there are the same and I'm not the only one. It amazes me sometimes the things people write on the postcards. Check the link above to see some of those postcards. Besides, this reminds me of a music video I've seen before. Dirty Little Secret by the All American Rejects. (thanks to 1+ I can finally post a video here)

p/s SPM is about a week away and yet I still have time to relax and blog.
